Holy Redeemer Folk Choir

The Holy Redeemer Folk Choir was formed in 1976 by Sr. Mary Corbett. The choir consisted of Sister Mary playing the guitar and directing the group. They started out singing at the 7 pm Sunday liturgy, today they sing at every alternative 4 pm Saturday liturgy.

They made a recording back in 1997 when Kevin Thomas directed the choir; the cassette has been transposed to a CD which can be purchased by contacting Julie Mayich.

They are now under the direction of co-directors Cathy Urquhart and Julie Mayich. They presently have 4 guitarists and 9 members. They also entertain at New Dawn and Carefield Manor Guest Homes throughout the year and weddings and funerals upon request.

This year they are putting on a 40 year plus reunion taking place on Friday, Sept. 1st and Saturday, Sept 2nd. The Liturgy of the mass will be celebrated on Saturday Sept 2 at 4 pm at Holy Redeemer Church with past members joining in with voices and instruments, founder, Sr. Mary Corbett will be in attendance. This mass will be one not to be missed.
