

Born in Dorchester, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ferrain and Mary (Gallant) LeBlanc. Mom’s passion for reading and learning led her to a career in Nursing graduating from the Hotel Dieu in Moncton in 1944. After raising her family, she continued with her nursing career at the Braemore Home, St Rita’s Hospital and MacGillivray Guest Home. Mom loved to skate and was fortunate to do so until age 84. A devote Catholic, she was a parishioner of Holy Rosary parish for many years and a member of the CWL. Mom will be deeply missed and forever loved.
She is survived by her children Michael (Sandy), Sherwood Park, AB; Donna (Neale) Morrison, Sydney; Jo-Ann (Bernie) MacKinnon, Sydney River; Paula (Garth) Greer, Sydney; Susan (Tony) Coady, Boisdale; Richard (Maureen), Halifax; Phyllis (Sheldon) Martin, Westmount and Andrew, St John’s, NL. She is also survived by her 17 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and her sister Theresa Dolan, Moose Jaw, SK.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Leonard in 1993, sister Bernice, brother Philip and an infant son, Mark Leonard.
There will be no visitation for the late Mrs. deVarennes. A celebration of her life will take place on Friday, May 18 at 2 pm in St. Anthony Daniel Church with Rev. Donald MacGillivary officiating with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Westmount. Arrangements entrusted to T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel.
