It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle Wilburn James Hill who passed at the Northside Community Guest Home on December 29, 2020 at 85 years of age.
Wilburn was a quiet man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and was most at home out enjoying nature. He loved the outdoors and was not one to shy away from hard work, farming, fishing, cutting wood, hiking or just puttering around home. He worked for the Department of Highways for over 25 years as a snowplow operator and doing road maintenance.
Wilburn is survived by his wife Shirley, daughters Aldrina (Doug) and Cindy, sons Jason (Rachel) and Ryan, grandchildren Natasha, Dalyce, Justyn, Alyssa and Bailee, brothers Nelson (Helen), Frank (Shelly), Douglas (Joyce), sisters Isabel Rudderham, Marilyn (Chuck) Bissett, Leona (Bernie) MacDonald, Lorraine (Diane) and Catherine (Glen) MacNeil.
Wilburn was predeceased by his mother Pauline, brothers Raymond and Winston and sisters Velma and Joyce.
A family funeral service will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel with celebrant Andrew Chapman presiding. Interment will follow in St. John’s Anglican Cemetery, Point Edward.
The family would like to thank the VON for the care and compassion shown to Wilburn.
Also special thanks to his brother, Nelson for all of the extra help and kindness over the years.
