AVIS DE DÉCÈS

Joseph Arthur MacDonald

18 janvier 196620 mars 2020

It is with great sadness that we, Arthur’s family must announce his passing on March 20, 2020, at the age of 54 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his family. Arthur left us to go join his father Verney, who predeceased him. He is also predeceased by several loved aunts and uncles. Sugar Bear as he was affectionately known is survived by his mother Priscilla, his niece Shannon (Earle) Holland and their children Jenna-Lee, Candace and Hunter. Arthur happily worked at City Wide Taxi for many years and was very well known in his community prior to his diminished health. As per his wishes, a private graveside service and cremation has taken place. Memories and condolences may be forwarded to the family by visiting www.twcurry.com. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hospice Palliative Care Society of Cape Breton. Special thanks to all of the CBRH staff in 4A and palliative care, home care and VON nurses who made Arthur’s last years more bearable for him.

To Priscella and all of Arthur's family, his siblings and friends. I was shocked to hear today that Arthur passed away at such a young age as I did not know he was ill. I want to express my heartfelt sympathy. I believe Uncle Verney and all the MacDonald clan that have gone before him will have welcomed him with open arms. Priscella, it is very painful to lose a child. May you find comfort in the many good memories you have shared over the years. May he rest in Peace. Nancy MacKay and Eleanor McDonald.

My first memory of Arthur goes back about 40 years. Childhood playmates when I was staying with my aunt and uncle a lifetime ago.
Her stories of her cherished uncle bring back fond memories and a newfound respect for the man who was instrumental in her becoming the awesome woman she is.
I've come to realize that without him, Priscilla and Verney, she would never have had the chance to be who she is. For that, I thank you all.
R.I.P. Sugar Bear, you have impacted more lives than you could have imagined.

To Joe's mom and all the rest of his family.. I was so sad to hear of Joe's passing... Joe always had a soft spot in my heart. His sometimes inappropriate sense of humor always got a laugh.. . Rest In Peace my friend .. I know you're walking tall with no pain... Susan..
