Keenan "Jinko" Wesley Denny

We the family of Keenan (Jinko/Bear) Denny want to announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and friend on Sunday, February 9, 2025 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Jinko was born on December 23, 1965 to Janet Denny and the late Kjikeptin Alexander Denny. He was an avid Detroit Red Wings hockey fan and loved all sports cheering on his favourite teams. Jinko had such a positive spirit and love of life, he had many health ailments but never complained. He was an inspiration to all that came to visit him and knew him. Blindness never held him back, he loved family get togethers and he would always find a way to get there.

He is survived by his mother Janet Denny, sisters Ann Denny and Kelly Denny (caretaker), brothers Kjikeptin Andrew Denny (Patty), Simon Denny(Vicki) also sister-in-law Lisa, Tyson Paul (Pauline), nieces Saralynn, Susy, Destiny, Desiree, Briseis, Nevaeh and Everly (Pata), nephews Alexander, Antle',Danny T., Sai, Patrick, Quentin, Keenan, Ryder, Jacen and Coby John, uncles Jackie Paul and Peter Chaps Paul, aunts Eleanor Johnson (Patrick), Patsy Paul-Martin(Barry), Sharon Paul (John), godchildren Kelsey Dennis, Mary Theresa Young, Brooke Francis, Bryson Gould and Kray Young. Close cousins, Craig Paul and Sean Ryan Paul. A special thank you to his numerous friends, especially Gerald Robert Francis (Kisikuo'p), John David Toney, Jonaphan Francis, Hubert Gould, Leon Denny, Dale Stevens, Gabriel (Kaplie'l) Marshall, Alfred Koli Paul, John F. Toney, Chad Denny, Jeremiah Johnson, Josh Jipo'l Stevens, Gerard Francis, Esmond Blue Marshall, George Buck Denny, Shirley Mary Gould, Katt+ri'n Francis, Kara Paul and Connie Gould.

He was predeceased by father Kjikeptin Alex Denny, maternal grandparents Catherine and George Paul, paternal grandparents Andrew and Mary Ann Denny, biological grandmother Susy Johnson, godparents Joe B. and Malia'n Marshall, aunts Katlin Sorbey, Malia'n Marshall, Francho Stevens, Matilda Benoit, uncles George Juice Paul, Gabriel Gubby Paul, Ryan Joseph Paul, Keith Raymond Doucette and Joe Sorbey, nephew Stephen Ryan Francis, best friends Chief Blair Francis, Billy Gould, John James Gould, Johnny Gould and Garrison Aboo Poulette.

Visitation will take place starting at 7pm on Saturday, February 22 at 40 Apamuekewawti, Eskasoni. Funeral Mass will take place at Holy Family Church, 50 Gabriel Street, Eskasoni on Monday, February 24 at 10:30am with Fr. Antolin Asor officating.
