It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Kenneth (Kenny) MacDonald after a short illness on May 6, 2023. Kenny passed at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Kenny was born to the late Norman and Elizabeth MacDonald on December 13, 1952 in Sydney, NS, where he spent the majority of his life on Lorne Street.
Kenny spent his career working for Nova Scotia Power, where he worked until his retirement. During his early working years, he was very involved in coaching the Mira Road Rangers. He was an avid sports fan who could be found cheering on his favorite teams, specifically the Detroit Red Wings, Detroit Lions and the Washington Nationals.
Kenny will be forever missed by his pride and joy, his daughter Kelsey (Owen) Walsh and his loving grandchildren Noah and Sophia Hutchison. He is survived and missed by his brother Jack (Linda), his nieces and nephews, and brother-in-law Rick (Norma) Reed. Besides his parents, Kenny is predeceased by his sister Norma and his beloved dog Harley.
After fulfilling his wish to be a donor, Cremation will take place. An inurnment of his cremated remains will take place in Forest Haven Cemetery at a later date.
