AVIS DE DÉCÈS
Lucy A. Bourgeois
3 décembre 1925 – 20 novembre 2020
It’s with great sadness that our beloved mother, Lucy (Roach) Bourgeois, age 94, passed away after a brief illness on Nov 20th, 2020 at Glace Bay Hospital. Her loyalty was expressed in various ways, through her friendships and volunteer work, 40 years with CWL, Royal Canadian Legion and Catholic charities. Lucy was a long time member of St Theresa Parish , Sydney. Her sense of adventure brought her to Toronto at a young age with her fond sister Rita. Returning home she met her husband to be Jerome ‘Jerry’ and together they raised their family in Sydney. Surviving are her sons Gregory, John and Joseph (Aris) her adored grandchildren Katelyn (Joel) and Michael (Nicki) and her greatgrandchildren Eva and Brynlee. Lucy was predeceased by her husband Jerome. Lucy was the last surviving member of her immediate family. The family would like to thank the staff of Seaview Manor for their professionalism and care for our Mother. Also thank you to the Doctors and staff of Glace Bay Hospital for your compassionate care. Visitation will take place from 2 until 4pm on Sunday, Nov. 22 at TW Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Monday, Nov. 23 at St. Theresa Church with Fr. Dennis Lamey officiating. Those unable to attend personally may join the livestream on TW Curry’s facebook page. Interment to follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.twcurry.com. Lucy would have appreciated a donation to be made to a charity of your choice.

My condolences to Lucy's family. I went with Patsy , last year , when Patsy was visiting her at Seaview Manor . meeting her for the first time. She was having her meal in the dining area. we had a brief but very pleasant conversation. She had a great sense of humour, and was checking me out to see if I was suitable for patsy.

I am saddened by the news of Mrs. Bourgeois' passing. She had tremendous supports from her two sons, Joe and John. She will be greatly missed by her family. She certainly enjoyed the best of visits over the years and this should come as a comfort for family left behind.

My Aunt Lucy had an infectious, positive spirit. You knew that because her laugh told you, she was always ready to see the bright side, ready to have fun. That, along with her common sence approach to life made her a force . That force was her love of life and of people she met. I loved her always and I learned much about life from her. That was my great good fortune. Rest well aunt Lucy, your memory I will carry with me. I send healing prayers and condolences to all her children in their time of loss.

My heartfelt condolences to John, Michael, Katelyn, Joe, Greg and Lucy's many nieces I have had the pleasure to meet over the last five to six years . You were all the the light of her life. Lucy and I had spent alot of time together when she would tell me stories. Her eyes lit up and she had the biggest smile when she talked about you all, especially Jerome, who she always said was the best husband she could have asked for. She truly missed him. She is now reunited with him and her Siblings, and I truly believe she is making them all laugh with her quick wit! God Bless her Beautiful Soul!
