65 – Dutch Brook/Lower Sackville

Paula Marie Spencer, 65 of Lower Sackville, formerly of Dutch Brook, passed away at the QEII VG Site, Centennial Building 7A Palliative Care floor on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at 6:52 am.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Phonse and Bridget (Bates) MacMullan.

She was a member of St. Anthony Daniel parish, Sydney. Paula was a LPN for 43 years and was employed with the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. She was very entertaining and enjoyed story telling; she also enjoyed cross-stitch, bowling and her annual trip to Cheticamp with the 6 pack +1 girls, which she looked forward to every year.

Paula is survived by her daughter Lynn (Melvin Sparkes), Lower Sackville; son Charles (Tanya), Edmonton, Alberta; her sister Therese (Joseph) MacDonald, Dartmouth and brother James (Barbara) MacMullan, Florida. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Ryan, Cole, Samantha, Tamara, Skye, Rebecca, Kody, Dakota, Payton and 1 great grandchild, Madyson.

She was predeceased by a sister Jane Anne Spencer.

Visitation for the late Paula Spencer will take place on Monday, August 16 at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11 am at St. Anthony Daniel Church. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
