Jr. was a carpenter, a fisherman and a jack of all trades, he never ever hesitated to help anyone with anything. “Itch” was an old soul, he loved visiting & talking with elders.
Jr’s children & grandchildren were his pride n joys and he was especially excited for his newest granddaughter to be born.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his children, 2 sons; Louie Poulette & Tyler Lafford and 3 daughters: Kallie Johnson, Kelsey Johnson & Alexa Lafford and 3 grandchildren; Ava Poulette, Christopher Sylliboy & Reign Stevens. 7 sisters; Kissy Googoo (Sean), Jeannie Googoo (Paul), Julia Herney, Donna Herney (Daniel), Irene Francis, Lena Francis & Annie Doucette and 6 brothers; Noel Herney (Flora), Theodore Johnson (Amber), Roderick Johnson, Simon Johnson (Catherine), Kevin Johnson & Julian Wells.
He is also survived and will be sadly missed by his 3 Godchildren; DeNiro Googoo, Kansas Herney & Noah Joe, his Godparents; Linda Herney & Noel “Bo” Denny, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, family & friends, especially his best friends; Hugh Doucette and Janey Peck.
He was predeceased by his mom; Janet Herney, a son in infancy; Joseph, his brother; Kenny Googoo, Maternal Grandparents; Julia & Noel Herney, Paternal Grandparents; Madeline & Ben Johnson, and by two of his Best Friends; Brad Poulette & Lewis Lewis.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at the Gabriel Centre, Eskasoni First Nation starting at 7pm until time of funeral. Funeral mass will be held on, Thursday April 4, 2024, at 10:30am, at Holy Family Church, Eskasoni First Nation, with Fr. Antolin Asor and Deacon Tom Sylliboy officiating.
