It is with utter disbelief that we the family announce the sudden passing of our loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and poppy Ralph Phillip Forbes. He passed away surrounded by his family at the ICU at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Thursday March 4, 2021. He was born on September 21, 1952 to his late parents Lloyd and Albina (Couture) Forbes.
Left behind to mourn are his loving wife of 47 years Monica, his daughter of whom he was so proud Danielle (Lee) Sydney, his son Ian Sydney who was always there ready to help with whatever project he had on the go (always at least 1) and the best big brother anyone could ask for
Albert (Rita) Cornwall, PEI. Also left behind are his grand babies, the lights of his life Brandi, Morgyn, Matthieu, Ares, and Grace who will miss him more than words can say. Also his nephews who he treated like his own and loved dearly Darren (Jennie) Saskatchewan and Todd (Michelle) Saskatchewan, Aaron (MaryJane) New Brunswick, Michelle (PEI); as well as aunts, uncles and many cousins. He was predeceased by his parents.
Ralph worked at Cape Breton Hospital and Braemore home for 40 years where he dedicated his life to helping others with challenging behaviors, as well as rehabilitation and graphic designer . He gave freely of his time as a volunteer as a Big Brother, instructor for the Bowhunters Asssociation, a Cub and Scout leader with Scouts Canada, as well as other community groups all the while raising his young family and maintaining his business adventure, Forbes Archery. His retirement life has been spent with friends and family enjoying especially the time he spent with his brother. Kindness, honor and humour were the essence of the man. .
Special thanks to Melissa Murray and Blair Roach (RNs) Dr Kevin Klassen (ICU Doctor) Terry Ramsay(Pharmacist) and all the respiratory therapists who cared for Ralph. Their care and compassion are greatly appreciated.
