

89 – Whitney Pier
Rose Humeniuk, age 89, formerly of Bryan Street, Whitney Pier, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 14,2 012 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family.
Born in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Tekla (Storozuk) Hoysa. She was a member of Holy Ghost Ukrainian Catholic Church. Rose was a true home body who loved to do things for her husband and family, especially cooking, knitting and crocheting, and just enjoyed time spent with all of them.
She is survived by her daughters Shirley Ings, North Sydney; Donna (Ed) Barrington, Portage; sons Steve, Sydney; Wayne (Monica), Sydney; Dan (Cathy), Port Hawkesbury; by 13 grandchildren, Jocelyn, Krista (Bradley) MacKay, Vanessa (Michael), Stephen (Lindsey) Ings, Shauna Barrington (Chad Munro), Troy, Tiffany, Craig (Michelle), Dayna, Kyla, Julia (Ian Van Den Heuvel), Kevin and Laura. Also surviving are her 7 great grandchildren Ben, Zachary, Noah, Bella, Nila, Elise and Amelia, daughter-in-law Betty, 2 brothers-in-law, a sister-in-law and by several nieces and nephews.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Steve and special son-in-law Harold Ings.
There will be no visitation for Mrs. Humeniuk. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 17, 2012 at 11 am at Holy Ghost Ukrainian Church. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, Sydney.
