

With deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of Sally Ann McIntyre LeBlanc from cardiac failure on August 18, 2020. She was born in Truro, NS to Donald and Sadie (MacEachern) McIntyre on March 15, 1959. She grew up in Northside East Bay and was a graduate of NSCAD where she achieved her degree in Fine Arts. She worked for several years in commercial art, was president of the Cape Breton Artists Association and was well known in the art community. She valued learning and held a paralegal certificate. She used her organizational skills to fund raise for various charities and published her father’s poetry, A Tattle of War. She used her photography skills to promote the beauty of the East Bay sandbar. Sally was a beautiful, caring and creative person and her sudden passing shocked and saddened her many friends and relatives. She is survived by her husband Peter LeBlanc, daughter Aimee, stepson Jamie (Sherri) LeBlanc and their son Douglas; mother Sadie McIntyre; sister Cynthia (Donald) Tiller; brother Robert (Angela) McIntyre; nephew Joseph Kowalczyk and his two children Carson and Kylee Kowalczyk and niece Brittany (Andre) Kowalczyk. She was predeceased by her father, Donald McIntyre and her sister Donalda (Jerry) Nimmo. Visitation will be 10-12pm on Mon August 24 at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St. Sydney NS. Please call (902) 539-3002 to reserve a time to attend. Funeral Service will follow at 1pm in the Funeral Home Chapel. Due to restrictions, seating is limited to 50 people. Interment will be at St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Northside East Bay, at a later date. If desired, donations in her memory can be made to the SPCA or the Heart and Stroke foundation.
