We are heartbroken to announce the death of our Mom, Sarah “Maria” Morrison on Monday, November 29, 2021. Maria was the daughter of the late Archibald and Effie (Campbell) MacInnis and grew up in the Shipyard area of Sydney. She met and married her one and only, the late Charles Morrison and resided for over 50 years in the Ashby area of Sydney. Mom worked for many years for Sears Canada and made many lasting friendships.
Anybody who knew Mom, knows that she was a strong, determined lady with unwavering faith in God. Mom was a member of St. Theresa’s Parish CWL for over 50 years and a choir member for many years. Maria is survived by her sister, Florence MacDonald, Fredericton, as well as daughters Jayne (the late Myles Burke), Charlene (Wally Hines), and Marilyn (Joe Walzak), six grandchildren Nicole (Tyler), Janine, Mitchell, Nathan, Laura, and Brandon and two great grandchildren who she loved dearly. She was predeceased by parents, as well as her husband, Charles, brother, John, sisters Margaret Townsend and Mary Catherine (in infancy) as well as several brother and sisters-in-law.
Our family circle is now broken, but we are left with many lasting memories. Visitation will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, from 5-8 P.M. with the funeral being held on Thursday morning at 11:00 A.M. at St. Theresa’s Church, Sydney. Proof of vaccination and photo ID required to attend. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
