

1913-2010 – East Bay
It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Timothy Joseph ‘Tim’ LeVangie, 97, of East Bay, on Monday, December 13, 2010.
Born in New Glasgow, August 23, 1913, Tim, son of the late George LeVangie and Anastasia McKeough, was raised in Havre Boucher. Early in their marriage Tim and Betty moved to East Bay to raise their family.
Tim was a loyal member of St. Mary’s parish, East Bay. Tim, a member of the East Bay Legion, Branch 151, was a four-year veteran of the Second World War, serving with the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders of Canada. Tim was a long-time employee of the Municipal Ready Mix. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Tim will be fondly remembered as a very loving and devoted husband and father.
Tim is survived by his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth ‘Betty’ (DeCoste) of 64 years and their children, Joan, at home; Alvin (Isabel), East Bay and their children Anne and Mark; Lloyd (Mary), East Bay , and their children Danielle, Dolores, Tim (Estelle), Terry and Lawrence; Jacqueline (Gareth) Hoar, Halifax and their son David; Marion (Rev. David) Hann, Halifax and their children Chantel, Mason, Amy and Cyril; and Karen LeVangie, Dartmouth.
Tim was predecease by his son Justin ‘Jackie’ Armand, sisters, Dorothy Bishop, Catherine LeVangie and brothers Donald, Jack and George LeVangie.
Visitation for Tim LeVangie will take place at T.W.Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, East Bay with Rev. Frank Abbass officiating. Interment in the parish cemetery.
