It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of our mother, sister, niece and Kiju (grandma Tracey) Tracey Nicole Poulette of Eskasoni First Nation, Nova Scotia. On November 25th 2025 at the age of 52.
She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Susan (Denny) Poulette. Her maternal grandparents, Walter and Catherine Rickard. Her parents Judy Richard and Alexander (Pi’kun) Poulette. Her aunt Elizabeth Sacobie and her Uncle's, Jimmy David Poulette and Uncle Tom (Thomas G. Poulette)
She was survived by her children Susan, Jordyn (Michael), and Koby (Jayden). Her grandchildren Khloe, Michael, Brooklyn, and Lailah. Her ‘sissy’ Catherine Rickard and brothers, Adam, J.R, and Blake Paul. Auntie’s Evangeline (Richard) Landry and Geraldine (Jack) Smith. She was loved deeply by her family, her cousins, friends, and her many godchildren.
Tracey passed away peacefully in her sleep at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. She was a strong woman who fought for her sobriety and achieved it. During this journey she showed her resilient spirit in kicking cancer’s butt.
Tracey was very competitive and spent her days playing skip bo, yahtzee, or cribbage. She would watch her favorite show ‘Little House on the Prairie’ and her Hallmark movies. She loved to gamble, socialize, sing karaoke, and travel. Anywhere she could dance or crack a joke she would. She loves her children fiercely and would brag to anyone who would listen about her grand babies. She was spicy and quirky. Tracey would have you thinking “did she really just say that”? She was unapologetically herself. Tracey will be missed by everyone who met her, knew her, and loved her.
A visitation will start at 7pm on Thursday, December 4 at the Gabriel Centre in Eskasoni and will continue until the Funeral Mass which will take place in the Holy Family Church, 50 Gabriel Street at 10:00am on Saturday, December 6th with Fr. Antolin Asor officiating. Internment in the parish cemetery and a Salite in the hall will follow immediately. Memories and condolences can be shared with the family by visiting twcurry.com.
