It is with broken hearts and profound sadness that we the family of the late William Joseph George Hayward announce his passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on August 29, 2011. Born in Bonavista, Newfoundland he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hayward of NFLD. He was a resident of MacGillivray Guest Home formerly of Lingan Road. Mr. Hayward was an employee of the Sydney Steel Plant for 40 years retiring in 1982. He also was a member of Winnie Chafe’s Fiddlers which he loved to talk about after his love for God.
He is survived by wife the former Lillian Waye; daughter, Eileen Marie MacLeod, Sydney; brother, Maxwell, Ontario and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by brother, Seward and an infant son.
Visitation will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Thursday, September 1, 2011 in T. W. Curry Parkview Chapel. Funeral Service will be held 2 p.m. on Friday, September 2, in Holy Redeemer Church, Rev. Paul Murphy officiating. Interment in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
