Alice Virginia (Green) Carter Goins

Alice is survived by her son John Gregory Carter (Robin); her stepchildren Jimmy Goins (Jerri), Keith Goins (Vicki), Shane Goins (Angie), Karon Bowden, and Sharon Sherbert (Steve), her 8 grandchildren including Justin Carter (Katie) and Jake Carter (Fiancée, Lindsay Gappa), her 24 great grandchildren including John Collins Carter, Alice Carter, Campbell Carter, and Owens Carter, her 9 Great Great Grandchildren and her sisters-in-law Ann Heim, Mary Chance, Joyce Green, and Ruth Green.

Alice was preceded in death by her husbands John Carter and Bill Goins; her son Thomas Glenn Carter; her father George Green and her mother Beulah Green; and her brothers Billy Ray Green, Ralph Green, Dwight Green, Little George Green, and Burt Green.

A visitation for Alice will be held Wednesday, March 26, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at The Tabernacle, 2911 Talladega Springs Rd, Sylacauga, AL 35151, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Alice will be laid to rest in Fayetteville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 5441 Old Fayetteville Rd., Fayetteville, AL 35151. All services will be officiated by Rev. Joe Kelley, Rev. John Limbaugh, and Rev. Justin Carter.

Serving as pallbearers are Houston Goins, Hunter Goins, Dalton Vick, Cade Conville, Eddie Goins, and Frank Thacker. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Shane Goins, Jimmy Goins, Keith Goins and Steve Sherbert.

Alice was loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. She was on the first women's basketball team at Fayetteville High School. Following high school, she attended Howard College which is now known as Samford University. While attending she played tennis for Bobby Bowden. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
