Beloved father and brother. He was a faithful servant of our Lord, who poured out his desire to love God. He was a father who provided endless love & encouragement for his children. He was a strong man with a kind and gentle spirit. He always had a silly sense of humor.....it made him happy to make others laugh, and laugh along with him.
He was Born in Sylacauga 1939.
He was a Graduate of Comer High School. While in his school years, he worked for the Dairy Queen in Sylacauga, working for Mr. Roy Wilson.
He attended Lee University, a private Christian college, in Cleveland TN, majoring in Theological studies.
While attending Lee, he got involved with the college drama group. He brought down the house in one performance in his role as a serious stuffy butler who shuffled onto the stage in a not so serious manner. He gained uproarious laughter and saved the performance....which was such his way!
After college he set out to evangelize in New Orleans LA. There he met his future wife Marion Patricia Gordon, who immigrated to the United states from Ireland. He and his wife relocated to New Jersey, where he became pastor of the Church of God, on High Street in West Orange. He then became Assistant Pastor at The Church of God on Old Road, Livingston, NJ.
He Moved to Denville, NJ where he and Pat raised their family. In Denville, he started ATC Construction where he was owner/operator of a successful construction business.
He was later widowed and relocated to Eustis, FL. In Eustis, he attended Praise Tabernacle Church of God, where he was a very active & devoted member for several years.
In 2017, he relocated back to his hometown of Sylacauga to live by his sister Vernell, where he spent the remainder of his years. In Sylacauga he attended Westside Church of God where he taught Sunday school and was requested to give occasional sermons/teachings.
He is now face to face with our Saviour.
His family loves him so and will miss him dearly.
A Celebration of Life Service for Arnold will be Saturday, September 6, 2025 at 12:30 PM at Westside Church of God, 2744 Old Birmingham Hwy, Sylacauga, AL.
