Barry was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sylacauga where he served as a Trustee, Deacon, and Life Time Deacon. He and his family supported and served the Outback Ministries for many years. Barry was Chairman of the Board of Dan Moran Ministries and made mission trips to Honduras with his family. He was a faithful servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and lived out his faith daily.

He was also in the Air Force Reserves, Vice President of the Board at Shocco Springs, past Officer of the Talladega County Bar Association, Member of the Alabama and Colorado Bar, and the 1979 Sylacauga “Man of the Year”. Some of his most joyous times were spending time at Lake Martin with his family and friends, snow skiing, hunting with his boys, and traveling with his wife and friends. But his greatest passion was spending time with his family, his wife, sons, and his ten grandchildren.
