Billy W. Carden, born on September 3, 1939, in Sylacauga, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2026, at the age of 86. He was a resident of Sylacauga, Alabama.
Billy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mona Carden, and his children, Rodney Carden (Anna) and Crystal Carden. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Timeka Baker, and his "fur babies," Izzy, Lexie, Nick, and Roadie that he loved dearly.
Billy was a faithful member of Browns Chapel Baptist Church and proudly served as Sylacauga City Councilman for 1 term. He served in the US Army in Korea from 1961 thru 1964 as a SP5 (T) E-5. Billy worked at American Color Graphics for 27 1/2 years. He started Carden's Lock & Key in 1977 and was there until his retirement.
Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, located at 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama, 35150, on February 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at the same venue in the Chapel on February 20, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Bro. Jeff Harris officiating. Burial to follow at Harpersville City Cemetery, located at 38899 AL-25, Harpersville, AL.
Pallbearers for the service are James Baker, Bryan Hughes, Scott Kay, Randall McDaniel, Jaddy McDaniel, and Bubba Collier. Honorary pallbearers include Robert Kirkland, Jim Peters, Jimmy Potts, Richard Martin, Manuel Kelley, and Dickson Kidd.
