Sylacauga, AL - Bruce Brown, beloved father, husband, brother and pawpaw died Tuesday morning, July 13, 2021 at the age of 67 in Sylacauga, AL from cancer.
Bruce was born March 15, 1954 in Sylacauga, AL where he currently resided. He graduated from Childersburg High School in 1972. For college he attended Tabernacle Baptist Bible College in Greenville, SC, where he graduated as salutatorian in 1985 with a bachelor's degree in Theology. Bruce went on to pastor several churches across the south. He had several occupations throughout his working career, but retired from automotive sales.
Bruce is survived by his wife Christi Hedrich-Brown; 3 children, sons: Michael (Joy) Brown of Dallas, GA, Steven (Rita) Brown of Cartersville, GA, daughter Rachel Brown of Acworth, GA; 3 step children: Lindsay (Tim) Phillips of Winchester,CA, Dylan Lopez of Chelsea, AL and Devyn Lopez of Rota, Spain; 10 grandchildren: Mack, Dalton, Caleb, Sydney, Andrew, Ansley, Becca, Tommy, Brett and Ella; 4 brothers: Terry (Nancy) Brown of Valley, AL, Ronnie (Betty) Brown of Sylacauga, AL; David Brown (Justine Hendricks) of Mooresville, NC and Ricky (Beckie) Brown of Sylacauga, AL.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents: Gene and Helen Brown, brothers: Aubrey and Jerry Brown and sister: Diane Brown.
Bruce was a big man with a heart to match. He loved his family, Alabama football, watching tv and making up silly songs about anything around him, especially his pets.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 19, 2021 at Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL. Bro. Eddie Forbus will officiate. Viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. prior to service. Burial will be at Fayetteville United Methodist following the service.
