Carl Lavon Burton

Mr. Carl Lavon Burton age 90 of Childersburg, Al passed away on March 25, 2017 at his residence. Funeral service for Mr. Burton will be on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 2PM at Curtis and Son North Chapel. Visitation will be on Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 5-8PM at the North chapel. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. Rev. Jimmy Dale Abrams will be officiating the service. Survivors are his son; Cassie (Shelia) Burton. Daughters are Barbara (Richard) Riggins, Diane Burton Bearden, Wanda (Bucky Ingram, Carla (Steve) Persons, Ellen (Bittie) Hawthorne. Mr. Burton had ten Grandchildren and Nineteen Great Grandchildren. Mr. Burton was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years Shirley Burton. Father; Lee Burton, Mother; Mexia Burton, Sisters; Juanita Conville, and Fay Carlson. Special friend of 25 years Bobbie Tubbs. Grandson; Chad Riggins. Mr. Burton graduated from B.B Comer High School and was in World War II. He also was in the Navy and Marines. He served in the Philippines Islands and earned a Purple heart, he also worked at E C. Gaston Steam plant where he retired in 1988. Pallbearers are Jason Ingram, Josh Hawthorne, Nickolas Ingram, Anthony Persons, Scott Medine, Matt Abrams, Troy Jeffcoat and Camaran Williams.
