Sylacauga, AL - Graveside service for Carol M. Harris, 79, will be Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Marble City Cemetery with Chaplain David Rozelle officiating.
Mrs. Harris died Monday, July 5, 2021 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Nelson McElwee, mother, Mary Lou Porter McElwee, son, James "Jimmy" Thornton, son, Kenneth Thornton, and grandson, Brandon Thornton.
She is survived by her sister, Permelia "Pam" Wikle (Jim) Rogers; nephew, Merritt L. (Melissa) Wikle III; granddaughter, Ashely (Kerby) Potts; daughter-in-law, Carla Thornton; niece, Laura Wikle (Wes) Jones; ex-husband, Edward Thornton; extended family, Kaylon Gaytko, John Belanger, Larry & Mary Williams, Brenda (B.J.) Willetts, Virgil Poe, Diana Williams, Kirsten Willetts Frisby & family, Joanna Willetts-Harry & family, Mandy Willetts-Roberts & family, and Nick Willetts & family. In our loss a sincere apology to anyone we may have missed.
Carol loved people, antiques and animals - especially dogs. Born in Albany, Georgia, she lived virtually all adult years in the greater Sylacauga area. She knew few strangers, and made many friends with her kindness.
