Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Donna Luna Dickey, 86, will be Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Father Frank Young officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.
Mrs. Dickey died Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, A. Douglas Dickey, parents, Hubert & Bennie Luna, brother, Rod Luna, and brother, Monte Luna.
Donna was a resident of Spring Terrace Assisted Living Apts. She was a wife, mother, grandmother, and a civic volunteer across many of Sylacauga's and Alabama's associations, which included, Trustee Emerita for B.B. Comer Memorial Library from 1976 - 2017, she was a Library Fellow in 2009, was a Brown Bag volunteer, was on the Alabama Author Awards Committee, got the Friends of Children Award from Children's Health System in 1999, was a 2005 National Advocacy Honor Roll, received the Alabama Library Association Public Service Award in 2000, had a B.B. Comer Library Board Honorary Life Membership, was on the AL congress of Parents and Teachers, and got the Sylacauga "Woman of the Year award" in 1974. Her activities included the Red Cross, United Way, Sylacauga Service League, Sylacauga Music Club, Sylacauga Arts Council and the Isabel Anderson Comer Museum. She loved a variety of music including classical and opera. Donna was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Sylacauga.
She is survived by two daughters, Brenda G. Dickey, Cynthia D. (David) Enfinger; two sons, David A. (Stephanie) Dickey, Michael D. Dickey; two grandsons, Jason Enfinger, Travis Enfinger; and a brother, Kenneth Luna.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 19, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to B. B. Comer Memorial Library in Sylacauga.
