Eugene Browning

Funeral service for Eugene Browning, 89 (December 1, 1933) of Sylacauga, AL will be Thursday, July 20, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Radney-Smith Chapel 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150 with Dr. Terry Sutton officiating.

Mr. Browning will be laid to rest in Evergreen Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, AL 35150.

Mr. Browning passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He loved his family, his garden, his flowers, telling stories, and traveling. He retired from the Electrical Department of the City of Sylacauga after 25 years.

Mr. Browning is preceded in death by his first wife, Jettie Hughes Browning; his parents, Marvin and Janie Ezell Browning; his siblings, William Browning, Ellis Browning, Marshall Browning, Milton Browning, Lillie Mae Corbett, Catherine Honeycutt, Willie Nell Roach; and his grandson Clay Owens.

Mr. Browning is survived by his wife of 36 years, Merle Bishop Browning; children, Teresa Conville (Doyle), Rhonda Owens (Wayne), and Pam Lindsey (Kebbo); children with his wife Jettie, Carol Bunn (Bob), Douglas Browning, Randy Browning; his eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; his brother Troy Browning; and his sister Shirley Stanley.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 20, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150.

Serving as pallbearers are Tyler Lindsey, Blake Owens, Lee Wright, Justin Browning, Austin Browning and Lucas Browning.
