Glenda Joan FranklinSylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Glenda Joan Franklin, 71, will be Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Heath Webb officiating.  Mrs. Franklin will lie in state at the Church starting at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mrs. Franklin died Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Coosa Valley Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Franklin; father and mother, Jessie Edward and Lillie Bell Franklin; daughter, Judy Franklin; brother, James Earl Landers and great-grandson, Colt McDaniel. Mrs. Franklin was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.  She loved gardening and spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She was employed at Avondale Mills for many years.  She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and she will be missed by all of her family.She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Duncan, husband Charlie, Deborah Brewer and Karen Carden all of Sylacauga; son, Clayton Holmes, fiancée Jena of Sylacauga; sisters, Shirley Mezick of Alexander City and Jeanette Persons of Sylacauga, 10 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 5:30 pm until 8:00 pm. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.Pallbearers will be Adam Duncan, Drake Kelly, Kenneth Kelly, Jr., Kenneth McDaniel, Emanuel Kelley and Doyle Harris.  Honorary pallbearer will be Chase Hanna.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
