James L. Bennett

Sylacauga, AL - James L. Bennett, 84, died Thursday, March 9, 2023 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Storey; father, Noah Franklin Bennett; brother, Bruce Bennett, sister, Mary Shaw, sister, Shellie, brother, Johnny Bennett, sister, Teresa Anderson and brother, Frank Bennett.

He is survived by his son, Randall Bennett; daughter, Paula (Chris) Pelfrey; five grandchildren, Cory (Nicole) Pelfrey, Dakota (Laura) Pelfrey, Clayton (Erin) Bennett, Devolson A. (Alivieya) Bennett, Aaren "Thumper" G. Bennett; three great-grandchildren, Riley Jones, Zoey Pelfrey, Eliza Burch; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He loved his children and grandchildren. He also loved playing golf, going to the casino and traveling.

A special thanks goes out to the staff at Affinity Hospice especially Jennifer Abbott and everyone at Coosa Valley Medical Center and Grandview Hospital as well as Dr. Brent McLarty, NP Lynn Maiden and Dr. Austin Lutz.

The family will have a memorial service at New Day Ministries in Childersburg on Tuesday March 14th at 6:00 pm.
