Linda was the beloved wife of William "Bill" Bourgeois, whom she loved beyond words. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Jennifer Bourgeois, Amy Robinson, and Sarah Bourgeois. She also leaves behind her brother, Mike Taylor (Nancy), and her sisters, Debra Tindle, Sandy Lojewski (Stan), and Dovie Parmer (Raymond). She is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends, all of whom she loved dearly. Linda was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Terrell; her parents, James Kirby and Mary Prince Taylor; her birthmother, Evelyn Parmer; and her sister, Regina Parmer.
Linda was a hardworking individual who owned and operated Candy's, a popular stop as a filling station on Ft. Williams Street in Sylacauga. She had the unique ability to find all about you before you left her presence. Her love for her family extended to her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
A member of the Elk's Lodge in Childersburg, Alabama, Linda was known for her charitable heart and willingness to help others. She would give the shirt off her back or her last $10 if she thought you needed it. If you ever met her, you loved her, and she loved you.
Linda had a passion for shopping, claiming it made her feel better, and was an avid fan of the Jerry Springer show. She enjoyed traveling and took several Caribbean cruises, initially hesitant but eventually coming to love them. Linda also enjoyed playing dominoes with her brother's mother-in-law.
Visitation will be held at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, located at 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama, on February 23, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm. Interment will take place at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, 1501 Talladega Highway, Sylacauga, Alabama.
The pallbearers honoring Linda's memory will be T J Little, David Brown, Anthony Gray, Tim Chandler, Paul Robinson, Alex Campbell, and Wendell Duncan, with Jason Robinson serving as an honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Elk's Lodge in Childersburg, Alabama.
Linda's legacy is one of unconditional love and generosity. As one friend aptly put it, "Linda is one of the few people I will definitely miss."
