Sylacauga, AL ‑ Funeral service for Mae Lewis Brooks, 85, will be December 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Tallasahatchie Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Hagan officiating with visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Burial will be in Tallasahatchie Cemetery in Alpine, AL .
Ms. Brooks was preceded in death by husband, Levis Brooks, 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
She is survived by son, Rickey (Joann) Brooks; two granddaughters, Shanci (Larry) Wood, Lindsay (Jason) Edwards; great‑granddaughter, Alexa Edwards; two brothers, Charles Morris, Buddy Morris; four sisters, Jocie Cook, Ethel Morris, Peggy Schwartz, Gladys Womack and several nieces and nephews.
Ms. Brooks was a longtime member of the Tallasahatchie Baptist Church and the J. Craig Smith Community Center Quilting Club. She worked at Beanuit, Sylacauga Nursing Home, and Your Flower Shop.
