Mamie Lou (Grizzle) Wilson

Mamie Lou Grizzle Wilson, 93, of Memphis, TN, formerly of Chelsea, AL, Demopolis, AL and Sylagauga, AL, passed into her eternal life on May 3, 2019. She is survived by one son, Rick G Wilson, Sr. (Valorie) of Munford, TN, her two grandchildren, Ricky G Wilson, Jr of Germantown, TN and Sonja Wilson of Nashville, TN, her siblings, Gail Grizzle Rhoads of Georgia, and Ruth Grizzle Watkins of Muncie, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents Lowie Clyde Grizzle and Celia Lola Jones Grizzle, her husband James Abner Wilson, her son Dan Wilson of Martin, TN and her siblings, Ray Grizzle of Birmingham, AL, Dorothy Grizzle Wakasaki, Myrtle Grizzle Isabel, Roy Grizzle and Troy Grizzle. Mamie was born in Gadsden, AL on July 29, 1925. James and Mamie were married on January 17, 1946 and had been married for 61 years upon his passing in 2007. Mamie had a talent and love for flowers and always had a beautiful garden and yard. She spent her final time on this earth under the compassionate and excellent care of Covington Care Nursing Home in Covington, TN and Crossroads Hospice. Her funeral services were on Thursday, May 9, 2019 under the direction of Curtis and Son Funeral Home in Sylagauga. Mamie will be laid to rest beside her husband, James at Evergreen Cemetery. Her son Danny’s ashes will be buried with her.
