
Mrs. Currie went home to be with Jesus, her Savior, March 17, 2022 after being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in February 2020. Mrs. Currie was born July 11,1950, to Levi Onis Faulk and Eula Taylor Faulk of Andalusia. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Samford University in 1972 where she studied accounting. She was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority. After graduation, she was employed by BellSouth and AmSouth. She married her devoted husband of 48 years, David, in 1973, and they moved to Sylacauga in 1975, where he set up his dental practice. She became active in the community and was named 1983 Woman of the Year by the Exchange Club. She enjoyed being a sports enthusiast, an avid bridge player who had reached the status of Sapphire Life Master, golfer and a proud mother and “Maw”. She is survived by Dr. David Currie of Sylacauga, her two sons and wives Paul (Jackie Bee), and Philip (Katie), five grandchildren (Sarah Margaret, Jack, Bo, William and Bay) all of Birmingham and her sister-in-law, Martha Currie Fregia of Midland, TX. Tripp Dickson and Charles Kelly will officiate at Mrs. Currie’s service at First Baptist Church of Sylacauga. Visitation will be Monday, March 21st from 5:00-7:00 and the service will be at 11:00 a.m. on the 22nd with additional visitation prior to the service at 9:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to Children’s Harbor (1 Our Children’s Hwy, Alexander City, AL 35010), Sylacauga City Schools Foundation (43 North Broadway, Sylacauga, AL 35150), or BB Comer Library Foundation (314 North Broadway, Sylacauga, AL 35150). The family would like to thank Dr. Stephen Beck with Alabama Oncology at St. Vincent’s for his devoted care to Molly. Thanks to Lou Ann Whetstone for her companionship and support for Molly and David. Thank you to Coosa Valley Hospital and Hospice teams (Melissa, Charity, Misty, and Jody). Also, Grace and Mercy Caregiver Services for their excellent care.
