Nora Jackson (Jackie) MeltonSylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Nora Jackson (Jackie) Melton, 95, will be Sunday, November 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist of Sylacauga with Rev. James Haskins and Rev. Sidney Martin officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.Mrs. Melton died Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.  She was a member of The First United Methodist Church for 62 years where she was active for many years serving on the Administrative Board, The Women's Society of Christian Service, Friendship Sunday School Class, Chancel Choir and The Emmaus Community.  She also served in the Cherokee Garden Club and Christian Women's Club.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert A. Dean and Jewel T. Dean; sister, Ada Roberta Dean.  After 41 years of marriage she was preceded in death by her husband, William Murray Melton, Sr. She is survived by her son, William M. Melton, Jr., wife Sandy of Gadsden, AL; daughter, Willa Dean Lewis, husband Earl of Sylacauga; grandsons, Stephen E. Lewis, wife Charmelle, William M. Melton, III, wife Ashley and Christopher Melton, wife Jessica; granddaughter, Robin Lewis of Sylacauga, AL; great-granddaughters, Rebekah Barnett, husband Joe, Abigail Melton, Emma Melton and Nora Melton. Visitation will be Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga, AL.In lieu of flowers, the family has requested contributions to The First United Methodist Church of Sylacauga, 105 East Spring Street, Sylacauga, AL 35150 Pallbearers will be Stephen Lewis, William Melton, III, Christopher Melton, Joe Barnett, Keith Gilmore and Joe Harris.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Friendship Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
