Childersburg, AL. - Pamela K. (Stanfield) Waters
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Pamela Waters on April 5, 2024 at Coosa Valley Medical Center, with her youngest daughter at her side.
She was born March 14, 1944 in Merced, CA to the late Jean and Wade Stanfield.
She married the late Richard Waters in July of 1981 after they met in California and she moved back to his hometown of Sylacauga, Al. He preceded her in death in 2021. She leaves behind two daughters: Michelle (Mark) Davis, of Lancaster, Ca and Jeannine Whitley of Childersburg, Al. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Jordan Flenord, Donovan Flenord, Carolyn Davis and Christopher Davis.
She worked at Sylacauga Hospital (now Coosa Valley) for over 30 years; starting as an admission clerk and becoming the Director of Admitting. She loved her job and only retired at the insistence of her daughters. She was known for always “dressing to a T” in suits and high heels. She volunteered at the local animal shelter for a few years during retirement and loved animals.
More than anything she was a loving and supportive mother and Nana. She loved her family and was there for every one of us, without fail. Her absence has already left a huge void but we will always cherish the memories and love she gave all of us. We are thankful to have celebrated her 80th birthday with her last month, she was very happy to have both daughters at her side.
There will be no service; her and her husband’s ashes will be scattered together at a future date, among the Redwoods and off the coast of California, as they wished. Please feel free to celebrate her and her life in any way you choose. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity, if so led.
