Robert "Vernon" Hasty

Sylacauga, AL - Funeral service for Robert "Vernon" Hasty, 79, will be Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Charles Kornegay and Rev. John Woodall officiating. Burial will be in Fayetteville Methodist Cemetery in Fayetteville, AL.

Mr. Hasty died Wednesday, December 1, 2021 at St. Vincents Hospital in Birmingham. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest A. and Lillian Estelle Hasty, brother, Ernest D. Hasty, brother, William T. Hasty, brother, Richard O'Neal Hasty, and son, Marcus Kilgore Hasty. He retired from the Air Force after 20 years and 14 days, he loved and fought for his country. Mr. Hasty was a wonderful husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Sue Hasty; daughter, Amanda Bell Hasty; son, Kenneth Lee (Sue Ann) Hasty; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Simon G. (Elta) Hasty; and his pet, Buddy.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 4, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tim McClellan, Winfred Sims, Spencer Sims, Simon Hasty Jr., David Flournoy and Nicholas Kolb.
