on Friday March 2nd at Curtis and Son Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rodney Frost
officiating. Visitation will be held at 12:00 - 2:00pm prior to the service. Mrs. Kilpatrick died
February 23rd in Raleigh NC where she has lived with her daughter and son in law for the past
3.5 years following an injury. She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Lula
Rayfield White, her husband Jimmy Kilpatrick and all of her 13 brothers and sisters. She was
employed by Russell Mills until her retirement. She was a member of Center Hill Methodist
Church. She loved college football especially the University of Alabama, she loved reading,
games and spending time with friends and family. Ruth had a big love of animals and enjoyed
being with her daughter, son in law and large animal family.
She spent the majority of her life in the Childersburg and Sylacauga area. She moved briefly
after high school to Washington DC,where she was employed by the Disabled American
Veterans. This is where she met and married her husband Jimmy who fell in love with Alabama
and they moved back to the area.
She is survived by her only child, April Kilpatrick Nash and her husband Steve of Raleigh, NC.
She is also survived by a very large extended family of nieces and nephews who she always
kept in contact with.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions to the building fund for Center Hill
United Methodist Church or the SPCA of Talladega County.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Nneka Hay FNP, Djuan Laws Garner and Takisha
Carver for their outstanding care and support of her over the last 6 months and especially in her
final days.
