Sammy Joe DavisSylacauga, AL - Memorial service for Sammy Joe Davis, 68, will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary Church with Rev. Freddie Edwards officiating.  Mr. Davis died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at his residence. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Hope Weathers Davis; mother, Velma Ruth Davis and sister, Donna Marie Smith.  Mr. Davis worked for Avondale Mills for 33 years.  He also worked as an Auxiliary Deputy of Clay County for 22 years and worked as Security for Koch Company.He is survived by his sons, Tim Davis, wife Tresa and Luke Davis, both of Sylacauga; brothers, Randy Davis, wife Virginia of Talladega and Bobby Davis, wife Brenda of Sylacauga; host of nieces and nephews.   Visitation will be Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary Church.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations to The American Cancer Society.The family would like to give special thanks to Helen Acklin, Mandi and Mike Ashworth, Virginia Davis and Alacare Hospice.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
