Shelia Burton

Shelia is survived by her husband of 53 years, Cassie Burton; her sister-in-law Diane Bearden, her sister-in-law Wanda Ingram, her sister-in-law Bittie Hawthorne and her brother-in-law Steve Persons; her niece Cheryl McGrady, a host of Nieces and Nephews, and special friends Amelia Odom, Susie Edwards, Jill Shirley, Nan Farr, and Kay Jacobs.

Shelia was preceded in death by her parents Cecil and Gert Floyd; her sister-in-law Carla Persons; her brother Barnett Floyd; her sister Cecelia Floyd; her brother Larry Floyd; her brother French Floyd and her brother Harold Floyd.

A visitation for Shelia will be held Friday, October 24, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Curtis and Son Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Shelia will be laid to rest in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Cassie Burton, Steve Persons, Nick Ingram, Wayne Hall, Tommy Porch, and John Floyd. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Barry Jacobs and Matt Abrams.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Shelia's memory may be made to Sylacauga Animal Shelter; and St. Jude Children's Hospital.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to Coosa Valley Hospice and Coosa Valley Medical Center ICU for the great care given to Shelia.
