We knew you as Cam. I used to joke that I went from knowing 0 Cam's to seven in the span of a few months and you were my favorite. You were the type of person who would send out a message to just say hi and you always invited me to things. I wish I had made it to more. Some of my favorite keys were just messing around with you and the boys. 
You were one of Mark's best friends. You helped introduce him to some of his others. I hope you knew how much he appreciated you and how much I did for you helping him. 
I hope you don't mind if I retire the nickname "sis". It was always your thing, anyways. 
Fly high, Spencer. We'll meet again one day. 

It was a pleasure to serve with Spencer in the USMC. He was a brave young man with so much potential. I’m extremely saddened by this news which broke me and I pray for comfort for his family and friends during this time. 

Spencer, how we met was fantastic. We both were gamers in our hearts, and that's all we flourished in, we began our friendship by meeting on the world of warcraft, and it was the most beautiful, cheerful friendship I have ever had. Talking to you was like taking a deep breath with a clear mind and having clarity with no worries. Man, you inspired all of us that you were around. We loved and enjoyed the time we spent with you. I wish you were still here, but I know you are no longer in pain. You always put everyone first, and you were the first one there no matter what; you put your friend's needs above your own and made sure everyone around you was happy first. The biggest thing I will miss is your jokes, and you're saying you always had. Your friendship is something that not just anyone gets to have. Its a once in a lifetime. Man, I hope to see you again, buddy much love! I'll see you above and fly with you, and I will miss you. May your memory and friends carry your humbleness and kindness to all those around us with much love.

Spencer was a good man, and an even better friend, I met him when he was in the Military while playing some games online. He would always come to me and a few others during his time in the Military to talk and just have a fun time and make memories the best way we could with the distance between us. Spencer would always listen to pretty much anyone and try and help with our issues if we simply needed to talk or something more, and he always had our back. Thank you for being a great friend Spencer and we'll see each other again someday.

Spencer was an amazing friend. I knew him over the internet, mainly from WoW where we met. I remember the long nights where our friend group would stay up, hang out and play games together. We would all be on a call having the best time ever. The countless laughs, encouragement, and dedication we all had to something so small in relation to the world, meant more than words can say. Spencer never failed to encourage us to keep trying at something that may have been difficult, always cheering us on when we got through it. Thank you for being an amazing friend, and always having my back. Till I meet you again. 

A great Marine and friend.  Always did his work with a smile and always had a kind word for all.  A credit to the Corps and our nation.
He will be fondly remembered and missed.

I was surprised and sadden to hear of the passing of your son, Spencer.
I knew him when we were both working at MARFORNORTH in New Orleans.
I was a civilian working there while he was serving in the Marines. He seemed to me to be a good Marine and a more importantly a good person.

Spencer was a good friend throughout my time in the Marine Corps. I was so excited to see him come up alongside our mutual friends. I'll never forget the times we spent together, be it out in town in  New Orleans or just goofing off on base. Hanging out and talking kept my headspace from getting the better of me. Spencer helped me more than I could ever have told him. I am grateful to call him not only a friend but a Brother. Til Valhalla Brother. You will be missed and will not be forgotten.

Spencer Albaugh worked with me for 18 months.  He was unforgettable, diligent, fully engaged with our mission.   He was the junior Marine working for a Lieutenant General, the youngest member of the MARFORNORTH Staff, and I believe, the most engaged on a daily basis.   He attacked his tasks aggressively, arrived early and departed late, he would rather run to accomplishment, than walk and would routinely ask others on the staff where he could assist with their tasks... There was no better team player.    Spencer Albaugh "gave it all" every day.  He is among the finest young Marines I have ever known.  His display of professional traits and characteristics at the age of 22 stand out as exceptionally unique.  This young man was clearly the product of his teachers, friends, neighbors, his community, his country and above all, fully dedicated parents and family.  The Marine Corps was the polish that shaped his few adult years... and he shined!  Lance Corporal Spencer Albaugh, "A Great American and one awesome Marine."  


Being a leader of Marines can be one of the most taxing responsibilities at times and it is often unforgiving, but then there are those rare moments that you get the pleasure and joy of experiencing a young man make the transition of a lifetime. To be able to watch the growth and development of one of America’s finest is something I will never take lightly and I will never forget. Spencer Albaugh, the time spent watching you grow into a man is what I live for and it’s an honor to have served with you. REST UP LIL BROTHER.  

I had the pleasure of working with LCpl Albaugh for almost a year. Albaugh was never one to let the little things get to him, always walking around with a smile on his face. Although your time with the Marine Corps was cut short you impacted so many around you. You will be missed dearly. Once a Marine Always a Marine.

There are some people who are respectful only because they have to be due to their rank or job title.  Albaugh wasn't that person.  He was respectful because you can tell he was raised that way!  So to all the parents, grandparents and other friends and family who instilled great traits into Spencer.  Job well done!

I have worked with Spencer since he came to New Orleans.  Even though he didn't work directly for me, you would have never known any difference.  Spencer would always help my guys out because that's the kind of young man he was.  If he could help his buddies out, then he was right there.  At the end of the day he would stop by my office and say, "Mr. Evans, do you need anything else?" 

 Words cannot even begin to express the greatness that was in this young man and like others said his heart was SOOOOO BIG.    We don't always understand why things happen, but one thing I can truly say is that, "I'm glad that God allowed Spencer to come to New Orleans and I was able to meet him and experience his personality, his joyful spirit and his willingness to do whatever it took to get the job done." 

Such a great young warrior gone way too soon.  Family you are in my prayers.  Spencer you will forever be missed. 

Words cannot describe the loss, and there is not enough time to describe the impact you left behind. Your positive attitude, and willingness to always help whoever had asked will be a trait that is sorely missed and desperately needed, not just in the Marine Corps but in life today. Your memory will be the standard that others should strive to one day achieve. Rest now brother, we will take the watch now.  

I had the distinct pleasure of working with Albaugh daily. Our section was a 2 man fighting position and we leaned on each other heavily to accomplish the mission. Albaugh always dealt with our more difficult of personnel with ease  and a always had way to diffuse a situation. From talking about his love of Ohio State to what he was going to do once he retired. He was as competitive and as caring an individual that i have ever met, he will be greatly missed. Until we meet again brother.

You always had a great attitude in and out of uniform. I’ll always remember the subtle quips you always had; could always count on you for a laugh. 
Spence, you were definitely taken from us too early and had a lifetime of potential ahead of you; but know that during your time here, you made plenty of smiles.

to Corporal Albaugh; Marine…brother…friend

Albaugh, you will always be more than my friend; you were brother. You were my angel. Spencer Albaugh and I met back in boot camp, and we have been together in our military careers until the very end. Marine Combat Training in NC and in New Orleans working in the same building. I could have been having a bad day at work and seeing him, even in the hallways, would light up my day. He was a pure soul, always with the purest intentions. I'll never forget when he almost burnt his room making hamburgers or when he was so happy being at the beach at Pensacola. His last words to me via text was "Yeah man, I hope for the best for you too Chief. Hope you do well in Cali too" (as I am heading to California next and he knew). I won't fail you brother. I won't ever fail you. I'll see you one day in Valhalla, but until that day, I'll keep making you proud and keep your spirit alive. I loved you dawg. We loved you. But God loved you more. Thank you for being my best friend. My brother. My angel. 

I had the opportunity of working with LCpl Albaugh for a few months and in that time I learned how motivated, caring, and competitive of an individual he was. I vividly remember one occasion when our shop had section PT of ultimate frisbee. The game had been going on for a couple of minutes and it's Albaugh's turn to throw the frisbee, he passes it but Captain Brophy blocks it mid air and yells "Let's go Albaugh!" Now a turnover, Captain Brophy picks up the frisbee and throws it. Albaugh jumps and blocks it countering with "Let's go Captain!" He did not mean any disrespect, the competitive nature came forward and we all had a good laugh out of that. Semper Fidelis Marine. 

Such a fantastic young man and a beautiful soul.  He did not ask for much and would support in anyway he could.  I served with him in New Orleans for a brief amount of time, and the comfort he brought to that environment was welcoming.  He was never hesitant to crack a joke, making working with him that much better.  He will forever be remembered and missed.  I want to wish the family my condolences.  Rest easy my friend, and until we meet again.


I had the pleasure of working with Spencer here at Marine Forces Reserve in New Orleans.  He was a great Marine who always had a positive attitude and was helpful to others.  I am deeply saddened to hear he's been taken way too soon and my heart aches for the pain being felt by his family and friends.  Semper Fidelis, you will not be forgotten by your Marine family.

A wonderful young man with a huge heart.  I worked with Spencer Albaugh for 18 months in New Orleans and he came to our office everyday working hard to help others.  He was always motivated and was an absolute pleasure to be around.  He made a positive impact daily and cared for his fellow Marines.  He is, and will continue to be, missed by his Marine Corps family in New Orleans.  My sincere condolences to his family, you will be in my daily prayers.       

LCpl Albaugh was a great Marine performing well in a challenging environment when we worked together recently.  His ability to adapt to an ever-changing environment was exceptional.  As a young Marine, he had the confidence, poise, and professionalism of a more mature and experienced Marine.  He made a positive impact on everything he touched and he will be missed. LCpl Albaugh, you were a great Marine and more importantly a great man.  The Marines and civilians in the Manpower Branch are  saddened by our loss of your smile and motivation.  It was so apparent at your send off in December how much you meant to all of us, and all of us to you.  You will forever be in the hearts and minds of your Marine Corps family.   Stand easy Marine, we will take the watch.
