Theo StricklandChildersburg, AL - Funeral service for Theo Strickland, 91, will be Monday, March 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Radney-Smith Chapel with Rev. Ralph Barrow and Rev. Mahlon Felkins officiating.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Sylacauga, AL.He leaves behind a legacy of love to his wife of 69 years, Cleo Strickland and their one child, Mel Bailey (Jeff Smith), one grandchild, Brian Bailey and wife Krystal and two great-grandchildren, Kameron and Connor Bailey; nieces, Janette Davis, Judy Moody, Glenda Dobson and Margie Cardwell; nephews, Bobby Strickland and Lec Foster.Mr. Strickland died Thursday, March 24, 2011 at Bill Nichols State Veterans Home in Alexander City, AL.  A solider of the greatest generation, Mr. Strickland proudly served his country during World War II.  Theo and Cleo Strickland married in 1942 and lived in Sylacauga where they raised their family.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.  He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Childersburg and was retired from Alabama Power after some 40 years of service.Visitation will be Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.Memorial messages may be sent to the family at www.radneysmith.com.Radney-Smith Funeral Home in Sylacauga, AL will direct the services.
