Born September 10, 1931
Proceeded in death by the mother of his children, Jean Hoch; his second wife, Kathrine Bunch Lyda Haisten; his parents, Mellis William Haisten, Ollie Mae Machen Haisten; brothers, Wallace, Mellis W Jr. Balton, Winston, Malcolm Haisten; sisters, Bessie White, and Ruby Moore.
He’s survived by brother, Robert (Bob); sister, Pam Bryant of Sylacauga; son, Thomas W Haisten (Myrtle) of Quitman, MS; daughters, Deb Gatley (Rick) of Portsmouth, England, Elizabeth (Becky) Gresham, and Tammy Hanks of Sylacauga, Alabama; and grandchildren, Jeff Haisten (Jessica) Quitman, MS., James Massie of Lexington,Ky., Tosha Massie (John Dierkson) of Sylacauga, Al., Mike Ward, and Kristi Ball of Lewiston, Idaho.
The family would like to thank Misty Barnes and Kaylee Carr from Amedisys Hospice.
Mr Haisten was a member of Marble City Baptist Church, and was a pipe fitter welder by trade. He was a friend to everyone that knew him. When he was able he loved to raise big gardens and share them with everyone. He was a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather.
A visitation for Bill will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Radney-Smith Funeral Home, 320 North Elm Avenue, Sylacauga, Alabama 35150, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m.
Bill will be laid to rest in Tallasahatchie Cemetery, 3332 Tallasahatchie Rd, Alpine, Alabama.
Serving as pallbearers are James Massie, Jeff Haisten, Brady Dierksen, Rodney Bryant, Stan White, Kohen Atherton, and Wade Houston.
