Thomas Edison "Tom" Pody

Funeral service for Thomas Edison "Tom" Pody, age 88, of Rockford will be Friday, March 30, 2012 at 2PM at Mount Moriah Baptist Church with the Reverend Jimmy Brown and Reverend David Mann officiating. Burial will be in 2nd Baptist Church of Weogufka Cemetery with military honors. He was preceded in death by parents: S.B. “Ben” and Nettie Pody; brothers:

Walter and Sgt. Henry Pody; sisters: Mary Palmer, Sarah Pody, Elizabeth White, Mittie Faulkner, Opal Clarke, Alma Varner and son-in-law: John Lane Bennett. He was a lifelong resident of Coosa County and was a member of Mount Moriah Baptist Church. He retired from Kimberly-Clark Corporation. Mr. Pody was known to everyone as Uncle Tom. He loved his God, his family and his country. He is survived by his Wife: Mary Dennis Pody, Sons: Robert M. Holmes (Mike) and wife Laura, Thomas E. Pody Jr. (Eddie) and wife Janet, Daughters: Mary Alice Bennett, Sarah Murchison and husband Donald, 6 Grandchildren: Heather Hutchinson, Beth Holmes, Amy Jordon, Christy Taylor, Rachel Allen, Daniel Pody, 3 Great Grandchildren: Sophie and Ansley Hutchinson and Connor Jordon, Brother: Stanley Pody and 20 nieces and nephews. Curtis and Son North Chapel will direct the services.
