Wayne was born to parents Oscar Olin and Ruth Brewton Tisdale on May 29, 1931 in Bluff Springs, FL. He grew up as the youngest of four. He served in the US Army for nine years during which time he participated in the Korean Conflict. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Civil Engineering.
Wayne worked for the state of Florida before opening his own civil engineering business in Gulf Breeze, FL. While there, he served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church of Gulf Breeze. He eventually moved to Atlanta, GA and worked as a consultant for the Raytheon corporation, later retiring to Alabama.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel “Genny” Killingsworth Tisdale and four children: Randy Tisdale, Jenny Goodson, Cece Tisdale, and Beth Crane, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He joins one son, Allen Tisdale, who preceded him in death.
Local arrangements are being made by Curtis and Son Funeral Home, Sylacauga, AL. A private family service will follow cremation at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Oasis Healthcare Hospice, 2005 Agape Circle, Moody, AL 35004.
