Betty Gail Hoops Burton

Sylvania, GA –Betty Gail Hoops Burton, age 83, passed away on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Augusta University Medical Center in Augusta, GA. She was born in Steubenville, OH to the late Lamar & Birdie Hanley Hoops. She was retired from the Clayton County, GA School System where she worked as a Dietician for over 20 years. She was also a member of Believers Church in Sylvania. She was preceded in death by her Parents and her Husband: Johnny Frank Burton; Sister: Martha Jane Skates.

Survivors: Daughters and Son-In-Law: Terri B. & Dave Doss and Connie B. Pitts, all of Sylvania; Sisters: Barbara Jakes of Wetumpka, AL and Nancy Davis of LaGrange, GA; Grandchildren: Davey & Dana Doss, Ali D. & Jeremy Taylor, Kit D. & Donnie Thompson, Robbie Pitts and Chole Pitts, all of Sylvania and Michael & Olivia Pitts of Atlanta, GA; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Funeral Service: Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Believers Church of Sylvania with Pastor Clint Williams officiating. Burial following at Screven County Memorial Cemetery. Her body will lie in state from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM.

Pallbearers: Michael Pitts, Robbie Pitts, Davey Doss, Jeremy Taylor.
