Mary Ellen Wilkerson Appleton

Sylvania - Mary Ellen Wilkerson Appleton, age 82, passed away on Monday, October 13, 2014, at Memorial Health University Medical Center, Savannah.

She was born March 6, 1932, in Brown County, Indiana to the late Dorothy Goodman W. Prichard and Alonzo Wilkerson. She lived in the Cooperville Community, was a homemaker and of Christian faith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janelle Cooper.

Survivors: her husband, Jamie Fuller Appleton of Sylvania, daughters and son-in-law, Victoria Owens of Sylvania, GA, Vonda Kaye of Florence, KY, Tammy Johnson of Garfield, GA, and Beverly and Tim Scott of Waynesville, NC, sons and daughter-in-law, Daniel Appleton of Newington, GA and Andrew and Christine Appleton of Manchester, TN, 25 Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation: Wednesday, October 15, 2015 at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Funeral services for Mrs. Appleton will be held Thursday, October 16, 2014, at 11:00 A.M. in the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Jarriel officiating. Burial will be at Bulloch Memorial Gardens in Statesboro.

Pallbearers: Andrew Appleton, Daniel Appleton, Elijah Owens, Isaac Lesse, Elias Scott and Phillip Appleton. Honorary Pallbearers: William Westendorf, Benjamin Westendorf and John Westendoft.
