Mildred Gabbard McGuigan

Port Wentworth, GA (Formerly of Sylvania) - Mildred Gabbard McGuigan, age 84, passed away on Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Lakeview Retirement Center in Baxley, GA. She was born in Carnegie, OK to the late Ted and Ann Margaret Guest Gabbard. She was a retired educator having been employed by Screven County Board of Education for a number of years. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Springfield and was the widow of the late Rev. Robert Reid McGuigan.

Survivors: Daughters and Sons-in-Law: Virginia M. & Allen Higgs of Springfield, GA and Margaret M. & Mike Glenn of Guyton, GA; Sister and Brother-in-Law: Carolynn & Michael Roseberry of Lawton, OK; Brother and Sister-in-Law: Ted & Teresa Gabbard of Salem, OR; Grandchildren: Caroline Glenn of Montgomery, AL, Caitlin Glenn of Guyton, GA, David Higgs and Joshua Higgs, both of Springfield, GA; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, June 26, 2016, at 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Monday, June 27, 2016, at 11:00 A.M. at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ted Hodges officiating. Burial in Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Gary Edenfield, Bennie Jeffers, Herbert Scroggins, David Burke, Steve Shirah, Randy Edenfield and Dana Waters.
