

Statesboro - William Alphonso Cope, native of Statesboro, was a member of the First Baptist Church of Statesboro. He graduated as valedictorian from Bulloch Academy High School and received his bachelors of science in construction management from Georgia Southern University. Will enjoyed all sports, hunting, fishing and gardening. Cooking was a passion for him. His pets were always at the center of his heart and he cherished them deeply. He enjoyed long motorcycle rides in the mountains and slow times with his family at the beach at Lands End, SC. He was preceded in death by his Father: Douglas Oliver Cope, M.D. of Statesboro; Grandparents: Herbert Alphonso and Waldeen Williams of Sylvania; Grandparents: Walter Bell and Marie Cope of Indiana, PA.
Survivors: His Wife: Tina Cope of Covington, GA; Mother: Pamma Williams Cope of Statesboro; Brothers: Douglas Oliver Cope, Jr. and Atys Benjamin Cope, M.D. & his wife, Michelle Wilhelm Cope, all of Statesboro; Nephews: Atys Wilhelm Cope and Oliver Baylen Cope; Niece: Regan Lee Cope; Uncle: Herbert Atys Williams & his wife Sherri, of Sylvania; Many Cousins.
Memorial Service: Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 3:00pm at First United Methodist Church in Statesboro. There will be a private burial.
