

Sylvania (Hunter’s Community)– William Lucious “Billy” Scott, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, GA. He was born in Screven County to the late Norman L., Sr. & Helen Smith Scott, was a retired Ironworker having worked as Coordinator of Crafts at Savannah River Site and was a member of Black Creek United Methodist Church. He was also an avid hunter and sportsman, member of Savannah River Fox Pen and was a Mason. He was preceded in death by his Daughter: Mary Elizabeth Scott; Brothers: N.L. Scott, Jr., Preston Scott and Gene Scott.
Survivors: His Loving wife of 65 years: Anice Bazemore Scott of Sylvania; Daughter and Son-In-Law: Kathy Scott & Jimmy Joiner of Sylvania; Son: William L. “Skippy” Scott, Jr. of Sylvania; 2 Nephews reared in the home: Joey Torres of Savannah and Chris Torres of Sylvania; 7 Grandchildren; 7 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.
Visitation: Friday, November 15, 2013 at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.
Funeral Services: Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 11:00 AM at the Thompson-Strickland-Waters Chapel with Rev. Robert Poston and Rev. Henry Bazemore, Jr. officiating. Burial at Black Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Joey Torres, Chris Torres, Kirk Joiner, Devan McBride, Donavan Whatley and Brad Zipperer. Honorary Pallbearers: Members of Savannah River Fox Pen, Louis Lee, Stanton Lee, Jack Mock, Earl Bazemore III, Allan Bazemore, Cordell Bazemore, Varnie Bazemore, Mike Scott, Ross Scott, Russ Scott and Toby Parker.
