Willie Roy Godbee Sr.

Sylvania – Willie Roy Godbee, Sr., age 94, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013, at his residence. He was born in Screven County, was a farmer, and a member of Hurst Baptist Church in which he was associated with since childhood. He was also a Loving Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He was preceded in death by his Wife of 64 Wonderful years: Hannah Dickey Godbee; Parents: Joseph Henry & Mabel Oglesby Godbee.

Survivors: Daughters and Sons-In-Law: Marie G. & Mack Chivers of Sylvania, Judy G. & Roger Bain of Waynesboro, PA and Nancy G. Holmes of Augusta, GA; Son and Daughter-In-Law: Roy, Jr. & Cindy Godbee of Montgomery, AL; Sisters: Evelyn G. Cooper of Augusta, GA and Barbara G. Boyd of Sylvania; Brother and Sister-In-Law: Melbourne & Angie K. Godbee of Sylvania; 9 Grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren; Several Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation: Sunday, July 14, 2013 at 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Thompson-Strickland-Waters Funeral Home.

Funeral Services: Monday, July 15, 2013, at 11:00 AM at the Hurst Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Davis officiating. Burial at Screven County Memorial Cemetery.

Pallbearers: Phillip Chivers, Jeff Oglesby, Joseph Holmes, Matthew Holmes, James Ahles and Barry Godbee.
