Born on May 8, 1950, in New York, NY, Eileen was the cherished daughter of James and Kathryn Minogue. From a young age, she demonstrated extraordinary strength and resilience. As a child, Eileen faced a serious illness that required extended hospitalization, an experience that profoundly shaped her life. During that time, she was lovingly cared for by Catholic nuns, whose compassion and faith left a lasting impression and helped inspire her lifelong devotion to her Catholic faith and her calling to serve others through nursing.
Guided by her deep faith and influenced greatly by her beloved Nana Margaret—whose love, encouragement, and positive spirit helped shape Eileen’s outlook on life—Eileen grew into a woman defined by determination, kindness, and optimism. She pursued her passion for healthcare with unwavering commitment, earning her bachelor’s degree and completing nursing school, where she graduated first in her class. As a registered nurse, Eileen exemplified excellence, compassion, and professionalism, dedicating her career to caring for others with warmth, skill, and genuine empathy.
Eileen had a boundless love for life. She found joy in plants and flowers, took special delight in children, and radiated an infectious energy that lifted everyone around her. Her positivity was not merely a disposition, but a way of living—one that sustained her through life’s greatest challenges. With remarkable strength and an unshakable will to live, Eileen survived a rare cancer for more than 18 years, far exceeding expectations and continuing to live fully, lovingly, and gratefully throughout that time.
Eileen is survived by her devoted husband, John Lamb, and her loving children, Margaret Gannotti, Matthew Lamb, and John Lamb, Jr. She was a proud and adoring grandmother to Olivia and Dominick Gannotti, who brought her immense happiness and purpose.
She was predeceased by her beloved sons, Andrew Lamb and James Lamb, as well as her siblings, Patricia Runberg and James Minogue.
