James Alber Lovell

James Alber Lovell of Woodbury and formerly of Syosset on February 25, 2017 at the age of 93. Dear husband of Dolores. The two were married for 66 years, always as newlyweds on their honeymoon, traveling to all seven continents together. Loving father to his five sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Susan, David and Maureen, Jeffery and Beth, John and Patricia, and Peter and Donna. Cherished grandfather of Dylan, Kristen, Nora, Lea, Adam ,Devin, Jacqueline and John, great grandfather of Lyla and Evan. Loyal brother to John and Emily, and to Robert and Catherine who predeceased him. Earning his graduate degree in engineering from the University of Michigan, he always loved his work, especially his work with NASA on the space shuttle's landing system. Reposing at Beney Funeral Home, 79 Berry Hill Rd., Syosset, NY. Visiting Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9PM. Funeral Mass 9:45AM Thursday at St. Edward Confessor RC Church, 205 Jackson Ave., Syosset, NY. Burial to follow at St. Margaret's Cemetery, Plainview, NY. Charitable contributions may be donated to the Medical Mission Sisters, Fox Chase, PA or St. Edward's Parish.
